Conservative or liberal

Conservative or liberal? Which is better... Our world are in constant change, sometimes values change too but other is important mantein. Conservative person wants preserve ancient or present values and possible never change her mind. A liberal person wants be a "open" person that always accept the change.
In aspect of relationships, today exist so many people who have liberal idea. Is good be liberal? have "open" relationships, "free sex", "dont make drama"?. For monogamous men, of course no, because sometimes so many freedom or dont establish rules can have consequences. For example, one decade of XX century that has this theme (liberal), the decade of 60's that everyone knows because was a decade of change and that be liberal was new. Of course I am talking about the hippies, that what they want were be free of politics, free of rule, free sex, or just be free. One clear consequece was that they, with ideas of be liberal they try drugs, free sex, fight with rules of society etc. They quicley saw that what they did was too much, and one consequece was that some of them die, suicide. Some of them die because they loose the sense of rules (of course many try drugs), the sense of values...of course is not all people who I am talking about but a huge a number. This just a example.
My point is that, exist things that, of course need change but before we want change we need see if the new ideal is more perfect than the other. Today many people or couples have open relationships, they have a partner but they sometimes choose other partner for have sex, of "vitual sex" in the webcam for example. Of course is not correct because if one person has a partner for be with, why they choose have other partners? I can say, fornication, sexaholic, etc... But one thing is clear, one person that do that of course dont really love her partner. Be conservative is good because some of conservative ideas have values and teach us became better people, liberal is too good but before we change our mind we must se if the new ideal is better than the before. One balance that is great, be moderate. For example some countries accept gay marriage, so, they are conservative but accept the diference, they became moderate conservative.
